Ease of Use

Magic School are constantly updating their tools and reacting to user feedback. For example, when I met them recently at the BETT Show 24 in London, they had already made updates that answered many of my questions. One such request was to alternate between UK and US English, which they had already done and were able to demonstrate. Such a simple thing, but incredibly important in an international school where educators should be consistant with one or the other. The user interface is visual and simple to use with icons and brief description of each tool. These can be added to favourite tools that appear on top, or searched.

Training

Magic School offers a range of introductory courses which will take you through the various tools available, how to use them and writing the best prompts. They have recently started the Magic School AI Pioneer Program, which aims to build a community of like minded educators. To take part in the program, you will need to apply. In addition, they provide a great deal of ready made slide decks and materials for in school professional development.

Assessments & Quizes- Some of my favourites:

You Tube Quiz Generator - Create probing questions that correspond to the content of a YouTube video.

Multiple Choice Generator - Create a multiple-choice quiz and its corresponding answer key based on any text, tailored to include various question types.

Rubric Generator - Utilise AI to draft a rubric for an assignment you're designing for your class, presented in a table layout.

Reading Quiz Generator - Create a multiple-choice reading assessment and its corresponding answer key, using any text as the basis.

Magic School has a student version in the pipeline and it will be very interesting to see that when it comes out. One can imagine many of the tools are applicable for students with a few new ones added.
